134è Régiment d'Infanterie

Members of the 134th Infantry Regiment in the midst of transition to the horizon blue uniforms. Some of the greatcoats are the 1877 model made in horizon blue while other are single breasted with a turn down collar. There are both light and dark blue kepis and even a couple that appear to have canvas covers. One soldier has a kepi from the 133rd regiment while his coat is from the 134th.

The Funny Ten


The sign reads "Transport der lustigen zehn nach Rumänien" or Transport of the funny ten from Romania. They have their shoulder straps turned over to hide their regiment number and the field caps have a cloth cover to hide the cap band color.

74th Landwehr in Belgium


A member of the 74th Landwehr posing by a damaged house in Belgium. His unit spent most 1916 in the area southeast of Ypres before moving to the Somme in October. Kruisstraat would be the site of three mine explosions during the Third Battle of Ypres.
