Here a soldier writes about how the class of 1913 brought measles, scarlet fever and typhoid to Fort Dampierre. More likely it was the Spanish Flu which was running rampant in late 1918.

Lt. Dunhue was at Fort Riley at the Military Officers Training Camp which was for training medical personnel. He would find himself very busy in the coming months. The first Spanish Flu case was reported in Kansas in January 1918. In March the flu hit the camp.

Assuming that Scott is on the left he was a member of the Royal Field Artillery. He has a skill-at-arms badge for gun laying. His brother was a member of the Royal Army Medical Corps. He sports a good conduct chevron. This card has a German type back so this was most likely taken while the brothers were on occupation duty after the war.
