Some members of The Royal Warwickshire Regiment with a cat and small child somewhere in England. They could possibly be from the 2nd Battalion. Written on either side of the doors behind them is "Transport TRWR 2".
The number 2 refers to billeting and indicates that that house has been allocated to 2 soldiers by the billeting officer, who would have arranged this beforehand with the householder, who would have then been paid at a set rate by the war department. Winter billeting in this way was common in the early part of the war until such time as sufficient hutted camps were built.
