Royal Warwickshire Regiment

Some members of The Royal Warwickshire Regiment with a cat and small child somewhere in England. They could possibly be from the 2nd Battalion. Written on either side of the doors behind them is "Transport TRWR 2".

  1. The number 2 refers to billeting and indicates that that house has been allocated to 2 soldiers by the billeting officer, who would have arranged this beforehand with the householder, who would have then been paid at a set rate by the war department. Winter billeting in this way was common in the early part of the war until such time as sufficient hutted camps were built.
