8th Field Ambulance

Three members of the Canadian 8th Field Ambulance. Most likely taken between the end of the war and their return to Canada in April of 1919. I am stumped as to why the word L'Huile (the oil) is written on the back.

Nicholas Koehn

Nicholas Koehn was born August 16th, 1887 in Valley City, North Dakota which makes him 30 or 31 when this picture was taken. He was drafted in late 1917 so it would have been sometime in 1918 that he would have been in Scotland.

Private Jaffe of the Canadian Army Service Corps.

Simcoe Forrester

A member of the 157th Battalion (Simcoe Forresters). They trained at Camp Borden in Ontario before heading overseas.
