Railroad Repair

A narrow gauge track runs along the main tracks being repaired by these German troops. They are close enough to the front to warrant a screen to shield they from the sight of the enemy.

Dicke Laura und Der Schusterschemel

The evil brother and sister! The shoemaker's bench and Big Laura. Wiley Möhle from Dankelsheim is posing with a group of dud shells. The evil siblings being a 21cm artillery shell and a trench mortar shell. I can find no reference as to which is which.
Flirey is near Verdun. The Infantry Regiment NR67 spent time there in late 1916.

Artillery at Verdun

A row of French 155mm Cannon Mle 1877 that have been put out of commission. A German card so these guns were abandoned by the French at some point during the battle of Verdun.

Cheppy

These are members of a munitions column in Cheppy Forrest near Verdun. Six of them wearing iron cross ribbons in their button holes and two with ribbon bars.
