German POW at Brocton

A German prisoner at the POW Camp in Brocton, England. This was a British Army training facility that was turned into a POW Camp in 1917.

Ralph Robert Hardes

Ralph Robert Hardes was born July 8th, 1893 in Port Allegheny, Pennsylvania. In filling out his draft card he tried to claim exemption because of his father being solely dependent on him for support. He ended up as a bugler in Co M, 9th Infantry Regiment. He survived the war, residing in Pennsylvania until his death on January 12th, 1962.

American Infantrymen

Two American Servicemen with the 325th Infantry Regiment. They would have seen action at St. Mihiel, the Meuse-Argonne and Lorraine. In the upper left is the remnants of another photo and the pin that held there.

343rd Field Artillery Regiment

This soldier is a member of the 343rd Field Artillery Regiment. He had this picture taken in The States. The 343rd served in France and participated in the St. Mihiel Operation and the Meuse-Argonne Offensive.

Admiral Wilson

The writing on the backs reads "Adm. D. B. Wilson + Capt. G. C. Day turning the Pennsy over to Father Neptune (C. W. T. Sheehan)". Admiral Henry Braid Wilson was the commanding officer of the USS Pennsylvania in 1916. I believe he is the officer on the left, receiving the line of costumed characters.
