This card was sent in November 1916 while the 77th Infantry Regiment was in Sissonne Camp to receive some training after spending the first half of the year on the Eastern Front.

A member of the 74th Landwehr posing by a damaged house in Belgium. His unit spent most 1916 in the area southeast of Ypres before moving to the Somme in October. Kruisstraat would be the site of three mine explosions during the Third Battle of Ypres.
