There is a record of a Wilbur Hoppel registering for the draft in June of 1917. Most likely this is him and his buddy on the left misspelled his name.

13th Infantry Regiment
A member of the 13th Infantry Regiment. Part of the 8th Infantry Division, the 13th Regiment never made it to France. They were recalled while at sea because of the armistice.

93e Régiment d'Infanterie
A group from the 93th Infantry Regiment. Many of them wear the Grenadier's insignia. The soldier on the far left with the saw and axe has the specialty insignia of a sapper. Three of them have been awarded the Croix de Guerre.

William Brugam Jr.
There is a draft card for William Brugam Jr. so this may be addressed to his father who is listed as next of kin. Born August 14 1896 William would have been about 21 at the time of this picture. He survived the war passing in 1968 at the age of 71.
